FACILITATED ENROLLMENT PROGRAM
Maternal-Infant Services Network (MISN) is the Lead Agency for the State-funded health insurance programs. MISN covers Dutchess, Orange, Putnam, Sullivan and Ulster counties. Through the Facilitated Enrollment (FE) program, MISN offers assistance to families in need of health insurance. MISN is able to enroll families in the five state-funded insurance programs:
- Medicaid Prenatal Care Program: health insurance for pregnant women, regardless of citizenship. MISN is able to enroll pregnant women into care for the length of their pregnancy and for 8 weeks postpartum. The baby will have children's Medicaid for one year.
- Child Health Plus (including children's Medicaid): health insurance for
children under the age of 19. The program covers well-visits, dental, vision,
sick and emergency care, hospitalization, prescriptions, and counseling services.
For Information on where to apply for Child Health Plus (CHP), Family Health
Plus and Medicaid Please Call 1-800-453-4666. Bilingual Staff Available
- Adult Medicaid and Family Health Plus: health insurance for adults between the ages of 19 - 64. The program covers well-visits, sick and emergency care, hospital care, prescriptions, vision, and counseling services.
MISN enrollers assist families through the often confusing application process. Our enrollers answer any questions a family may have about the program and teach which papers (bills, pay stubs, documents) that are needed. Our enrollers assist families in making an educated choice of physician and health plan that best suits their family's needs. We provide support when a family has a problem or concern with their application.
- During the calendar year 2009, MISN enrolled 335 pregnant women, 1,226 adults and 2,657 children into health insurance programs - for a total of 4,218!
MISN enrollers and staff do our best to accommodate every family that needs insurance. We meet with families in convenient community sites and at our office. Through the FE program, families have come to rely on MISN for other needs they may have. Families know that MISN will help them.
