MiSN CAPP team implements evidence-based and affirming youth development and teen pregnancy prevention programs throughout Orange, Sullivan and Ulster County in a variety of settings. These programs have been thoroughly tested and proven to reduce the risk factors associated with teen pregnancies and becoming a teen parent.
A year-long program that allows teens to develop a vision for their own bright futures and hone their skills as leaders. This program lays the groundwork for healthy behaviors, community service, meaningful connections with peers and adults, practical life skills and a deep sense of purpose.
A 13-session program for youth that fosters positive life choices by helping them to envision successful futures. They will learn to set goals, learn to identify barriers, and learn how to reduce behaviors that would put them at risk for teen pregnancy and sexually transmitted infections.
An 8-hour curriculum, evidence-based safer sex approach to teen pregnancy and HIV/STI prevention, and reduced risk of contraction. MPC is designed to give adolescents the tools needed to increase their confidence, have a stronger sense of responsibility and pride, and have more positive attitudes about abstinence, safe sex, HIV, & STIs.
Cultivating, Health, Acceptance, Opportunity and Soul (CHAOS) builds rapport with the youth in the community and community resources to educate them on various aspects of their health. We aspire to equip them with the tools to become great leaders and self-advocates through community engagement, personal and professional development.
